Nestled by the riverbank in a picturesque village, Waterside Guesthouse offers a blend of value and comfort. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, and our en suite room on the first floor had a cozy double bed and two singles, providing plenty of space for our needs. The cleanliness of the room stood out, equipped with essential amenities like an electric kettle, flat-screen TV, and complimentary toiletries-great touches that added to the overall experience. We stayed on Monday and Tuesday, which limited our dining options, as the restaurant was closed. Appreciating the attentive service, the front desk even called local eateries to guide us. We dined at a nearby Chinese restaurant and the local fish and chips café, which was decent. Breakfast at the guesthouse was a highlight-fresh, hot, and with a range of choices, including homemade brown bread. Waterside strikes a reasonable balance between luxury and value. While we'd recommend visiting when the restaurant is open to fully enjoy the experience, the warm hospitality and beautiful river views made our stay worthwhile. Plus, it's a fantastic spot for budget-conscious travelers like us. We'd definitely consider returning in season for a more comprehensive experience.
